Grayson loves decorating cookies. She always wants my leftover icing and cookies to decorate herself. So when the time came to pick a theme for her birthday party it was a no-brainer. Even though it was a similar theme to her Cupcake Decorating Party a few years ago....
Here's what her invitation looked like...
To prepare for the party I made a set of six cookies for each child to decorate...with lots of icing and sprinkles and toppings. I set up the party table with parchment paper as the table cover. Each child had a 1/4 baking sheet and a practice sheet to get used to using the icing on. I filled several icing bags full of each color and put them in mason jars for easy reach...and to be cute. I found mini mason jars that are sat/pepper shakes and used those to put the sprinkles in. They were perfect because they kept the flow slow, which is good when kids are shaking them! For their boo-boo sticks I used some cute cocktail toothpicks. I also found some cute colored towels to use as their damp towel. The larger sprinkles/toppings I put in mini mason jars with mini spoons. (trying to encourage the least amount of cross-contamination as possible!)
The paper decorations for the party are all from Wal-Mart believe it or not! I fashioned the cookies I made for party treats after the colors and animal print pattern.
For the food bar I filled several jars with different kinds of cookies (all store bought). I also filled a big jar with cookie cutters. I made the cupcakes from a box and topped with homemade buttercream icing.

Singing to our girl...
We are so lucky to have so many cousins living close to us. Grayson tells me she wants a sister...and I'm quick to remind her that she has 2 little girl cousins that live in the same town. Not to mention LOTS of boys to torment them! So sweet!
Each child took home a bakery box of thier cookies with an initial cookie cutter tied on, as well as their baking sheet. It turned out to be a really fun party. Even some of the moms tried their hand at decorating!
